East Midlands Speak Out Challenge
The East Midlands Speak Out Challenge is new to state-secondary schools in Leicester and Leicestershire for 2024/2025!
The Speak Out Challenge programme gives year 10 students the opportunity to develop their confidence and communication skills. Workshops support the speaking and listening GCSE and boost pupils’ future employability. Delivered by Speakers Trust, the programme is available to state secondary schools in the East Midlands.
Why should your schools get involved?
Thanks to generous funding from 3i Group, schools are able to access a FREE oracy workshop for a class of 25-30 Year 10 students.
In each workshop, public speaking trainers will deliver a full-day workshop, culminating in every student standing up and sharing a short speech on a topic of their choosing.
This workshop has a transformative impact on the confidence, aspirations, skills and empathy of young people. After the workshop, schools will have the opportunity to put a student forward for the Regional Final where they will compete with students from across your area for the title of East Midlands Speak Out Challenge Champion.
