Applications OPEN for new NPQLPM
We are pleased to be able to share with you details of the new NPQ for Leading Primary Maths (NPQLPM)
This NPQ is designed for teachers who have, or aspire to have, responsibilities for leading maths across a primary key stage or school, or those who want to build leadership skills in this area. Further information can be found on the attached sheet or on our website LeLTSH - NPQ for Leading Primary Maths. This NPQ does have eligibility criteria and prospective applicants should have completed at least 1 year of the DfE’s Teaching for Mastery programme. If you have not completed at least 1 year of this programme, please contact the Teaching School Hub directly and we can explore with you whether you may have gained mastery expertise via an alternative route e.g. through an alternative mastery programme.
The programme will be facilitated by local serving primary maths leaders, from Leicester and Leicestershire, and will provide contextually relevant approaches to the leadership of primary maths. In 12 months, you’ll become an expert leader of primary maths and learn how to embed high-quality mastery approaches to maths teaching in your school.
We are currently recruiting to our first local cohort which will begin in February 2024 and will be fully funded for all teachers and leaders. Additional funding of up to £800 is available for smaller schools to support staff release dependent on pupil numbers.
Applications for the first cohort are now open and the deadline for completion is Friday 26th January 2024. Information regarding the application process can be found here LeLTSH - National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)
Should you have any questions or require any further information, please contact the Teaching School Hub at [email protected] who will be happy to support.
